We are in the Episcopal
tradition, although
we are non-denominational... or you could also say
multi-denominational. Some
of our congregation are from Anglican background, some from "free"
churches, etc.
We have Ordained
Minister's (Deacon's and Presbyters)
and although we had
episcopal oversight (a Bishop)
sadly our beloved Bishop Tomas Kennedy died unexpectedly in
2012.
You can find a
copy of
our current Constitution on our Church
Member's pages (links above). The Senior
Pastor and his wife endeavour to provide spiritual vision, oversight,
and
guidance to the body placed under their care by way of serving those
they are
privileged to lead.
We also have a Church
Council click here. This
mainly exists
to provide practical help in running the church, and brings feedback to
the
congregation whilst meeting monthly under the oversight of the Senior
Pastor
and his wife . Our Treasurer sits here, our Church Secretary, a
Congregational
Representative and a Church Promotions Officer. These posts are all
flexible
and non-permanent to make way for God's best to be exhibited.
We
were
a part of the E.E.C. - the Evangelical
Episcopal Church, but
this dissolved as our Bishop Tomas died. It would take too long to
explain why, except to say that there was a major rearrangement of the
larger episcopal bodies in the USA around the same time our Bishop
died...... Europe was not a part of the new plan it seems. We
are
also part of a much larger movement – the Convergence
Movement
click here - which seeks to worship
God
drawing on all three main streams - the Sacramental,
the Charismatic, and the Evangelical.
